Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Something Better LLC, the developer of Uncharted (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Uncharted app and its online features. By downloading or using Uncharted you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Licence and the Apple Standard EULA

If you got Uncharted from Apple's App Store, your licence to use the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), together with these terms. Where they conflict, the Standard EULA applies to the licence of the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms apply alongside these terms.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Uncharted on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

2. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. Your travel history is stored on your device; you are responsible for keeping your own backups.

3. Uncharted Pro subscriptions

• Uncharted Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and duration unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Pro never affects competition scoring. Tracking, your full history, backups, badges and competing are free.

4. Competition rules

Competing on leaderboards is optional and free. No purchase is necessary to join, play or rank.

• No prizes. Leaderboards, seasons, titles and badges are for fun and bragging rights only. They have no monetary value, and there are no cash or material prizes.
• Play fair. Only real, physical travel counts. Don't fake your location (for example with GPS spoofing, simulators, emulators, modified apps or automated devices), share accounts, or exploit bugs.
• Verification. Shared routes are checked automatically and may be reviewed. We may withhold, adjust or remove points, titles or rankings, reset a season's results, or suspend accounts when we reasonably believe the rules were broken or a result is wrong.
• Seasons. We may change scoring, seasons, leaderboards and titles to keep competition fair and fun.

5. Acceptable use

Explorer names and crew names are public. You agree not to use names, emblems or invites that are offensive, hateful, sexual, harassing, impersonate someone else, include personal information, or advertise anything. You also agree not to:

• harass, threaten or stalk other players, or use the app to locate or follow anyone;
• reverse-engineer, disrupt or overload our servers, or access accounts or data that aren't yours;
• use the app for any unlawful purpose.

You can report or block another player from their leaderboard row. We review reports within 24 hours, and we may rename, hide or remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

6. Stay safe

Explore responsibly. Respect private property, local laws and closed areas, and never use the app while driving. Uncharted does not tell you where it is safe or legal to go. Location tracking uses battery and data, and recorded locations can be inaccurate.

7. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under You → Privacy → Delete account. We may suspend or end access to online features if you break these terms, and we may change or discontinue features, including the competition, at any time.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Uncharted is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of maps or locations, and uninterrupted service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Uncharted afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
